The Human Element and Workforce in Vietnam's Artificial Intelligence Vision
As Vietnam accelerates its artificial intelligence transformation in line with its 2045 goals, it is implementing training programs to enhance workers' management and critical thinking competencies alongside their technical skills.
Vietnam is taking new steps to develop its workforce as it focuses on artificial intelligence integration in line with its goal of becoming a high-income developed country by 2045.
Vietnam has made leveraging artificial intelligence a strategic priority to achieve its goal of becoming a high-income developed country by 2045. According to a 2026 study commissioned by Amazon Web Services, 26% of Vietnamese businesses have adopted artificial intelligence, and 87% of employers view the retraining of existing employees as a strategic necessity. In this context, the Vietnamese government aims to equip approximately 10 million workers with basic artificial intelligence skills by 2030 through the National Artificial Intelligence Human Resources Development Program approved in August 2026.
Dr. Tan Hong Ming from the National University of Singapore Business School emphasized at a press conference in Hanoi that technical skills alone are not sufficient, and that organizations must redesign their business processes according to artificial intelligence and develop leadership skills. Accordingly, the National University of Singapore Business School is piloting a business simulation model utilizing a generative artificial intelligence platform called ScholAIstic. The program in question aims to enhance the abilities of students and managers in critical thinking, evaluating different perspectives, and developing independent judgment.
