CPU Preference Instead of Nvidia GPUs
This massive deal stands out by eliminating the need for Nvidia, the market's leading AI accelerator provider. Akamai will deploy central processing units instead of Nvidia graphics processors for Anthropic's operations.
Inference and Hardware Partnerships
Analysts state that Anthropic will use these processors to manage business workloads and for inference processes rather than training Claude artificial intelligence models. Meanwhile, Akamai signed a prime contract with Lenovo Global Technologies for hardware and software services and placed a new production order with Jabil under its existing agreement.
