Disabled People's Culture, Art and Sports Festival Starts in Ayvalık
The traditional festival, held for the 34th time in Ayvalık district of Balıkesir, is hosting guests from different cities of Turkey.
Organized in cooperation with the Turkey Confederation of Disabled People and Ayvalık Municipality, the 34th Ayvalık Disabled People's Culture, Art and Sports Festival started with an enthusiastic ceremony in the Ayvalık district of Balıkesir.
Opening Ceremony at Cumhuriyet Square
200 special individuals coming from different cities of Turkey will be hosted in Ayvalık for six days.
Local protocol, non-governmental organizations, and families attended the opening ceremony at Cumhuriyet Square.
Emphasis on Solidarity from Mayor Ergin
Ayvalık Mayor Mesut Ergin stated that the event, which has been organized uninterruptedly for 34 years, is an example of the culture of solidarity.
Mayor Ergin expressed that the festival started through collective efforts and has reached a national and international dimension.
Six-Day Event Schedule
The opening ceremony was colored by the performances of the Ayvalık Municipality Special Children Education House students.
Within the scope of the six-day events, dental care, workshops, and a campfire are included.
