"From Roots to Future" Exhibition Meets Art Lovers at Rami Library
The "From Roots to Future" exhibition, opened at Rami Library, showcases around 40 special works from the disciplines of tile art, stained glass, traditional felt, and flexible cold porcelain.
Curated by Özgün Küçükkahraman Yazgan and opening its doors at Rami Library, the "From Roots to Future" exhibition presented approximately 40 works in the fields of tile art, stained glass, felt, and cold porcelain to art lovers, aiming to carry traditional heritage into the future.
Exhibition Opening and Main Purpose
Prepared under the curation of Özgün Küçükkahraman Yazgan, the exhibition brings together nearly 40 works from the disciplines of tile art, stained glass, traditional felt, and flexible cold porcelain. Throughout the exhibition, workshop activities in four different art branches are also being organized.
Emphasis on Transferring Traditional Heritage to the Future
Olcay Aydemir, Vice President of the Çınar International Culture and Art Association, stated that they want to pass down traditional heritage to future generations and invited all art lovers to the exhibition at Rami Library.
Cold Porcelain Transformed into Botanical Sculptures
Flexible cold porcelain artist Fatoş Sarpkaya stated that she participated in the exhibition with 10 works, and by imitating nature, they transform flowers such as snowdrops, roses, and peonies into botanical sculptures.
Tiffany Stained Glass Techniques and Processes
Stained glass artist İnci Çatal noted that she takes part in the exhibition with over 20 Tiffany stained glass works, stating that this long and costly process is an enjoyable art that requires patience.
Felt Paintings Telling Istanbul's Mystical Stories
Traditional felt artist Nihal Hoşgel shared that six felt paintings telling the mystical stories of Istanbul, prepared together with her students, were completed in a timeframe ranging from two to seven months.
Works Pushing the Boundaries in Tile Art
Curator and tile artist Özgün Küçükkahraman Yazgan said that they push boundaries with miniature works in tile art and aim to bring the art coming from their roots together with today's artists.
