Tunisian artist, writer, and director Nacer Khemir's exhibition "40 Sufi Tales", consisting of mystical and philosophical narratives, opened its doors at Rami Library as part of the Istanbul leg of the Turkey Culture Route Festival.

Main Purpose and Content of the Exhibition

Comprising forty stories, the exhibition portrays man's quest for truth, love, desire, fear, and self-discovery through miniature art. The exhibition treats Sufi tales as living texts that continue to inspire thought today.

The Artist's Background and Approach

Nacer Khemir's passion for painting that began in childhood and his long-standing relationship with storytelling form the background of the exhibition. The artist emphasizes that he was a painter before becoming a director.

Stories That Raise Questions

Following his film Bab'Aziz, the director turned to compiling mystical stories, noting that these works do not offer answers and content themselves solely with raising questions.

Visit Information

Featuring narratives such as The Beggar, The Thief and The Saint, and The Dervish and The Merchant, the exhibition can be visited free of charge at Rami Library until October 4.
