Traditional Turkish-Islamic Arts Exhibition Opens in Talas
The event held in the Talas district of Kayseri brings together select examples of calligraphy, illumination, marbling, and pyrography arts for art enthusiasts.
Organized by the Talas Municipality, the Illumination-Calligraphy-Marbling-Pyrography Exhibition opened its doors at the Talas Municipality Culture Center and 24/7 Library between September 21-27, 2026. The opening, attended by Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şükrü Dursun, highlighted the elegance of traditional arts.
A New Destination for Art Lovers
The Talas Municipality Culture Center and 24/7 Library are hosting a special exhibition that will last for one week. Works covering various branches of Turkish-Islamic arts have been presented to the appreciation of art enthusiasts in the region.
Featured Artists and Works
The exhibition features the works of calligrapher Bilge Çalıcı and painter Murat Aytaş. Bilge Çalıcı expressed her satisfaction with the support provided, stating that she found the opportunity to learn calligraphy, which she could not find in her own hometown.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şükrü Dursun emphasized the importance Talas Mayor Mustafa Yalçın places on art and artists. The artists, in turn, expressed their gratitude for the facilities provided for the exhibition.
