Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that pre-groundbreaking preparation work is underway on the new tram line that will connect Adapazarı and Serdivan.

Urban Transportation Project

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that following ADARAY put into service in Sakarya, they continue to develop the urban rail system network with new projects.

It was stated that the Adapazarı-Serdivan tram line was brought to life in order to ease the increasing urban transportation density and increase public transportation capacity.

Line Features

The Adapazarı-Serdivan Tram Line, which will have a total length of 15.2 kilometers, will serve citizens with 19 different stations.

It was shared that the design speed of the trams in the project will be 70 kilometers per hour.

Route Information

Starting from 15 Temmuz Demokrasi Square, the line will reach Serdivan via campus areas.

Within the scope of the project, it is also aimed to provide easy transportation to the Serdivan Sports Hall and stadium area.

Tender and Process

The line, whose project was drawn up by the Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality, was undertaken by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure with a Presidential Decree.

Following the completion of the feasibility studies, the construction and electromechanical systems tender was held on April 28, 2026.

Construction Site and Preparations

While the construction contract of the project was signed on August 25, the official site delivery was made on August 27.

It was reported that site installation works are ongoing and final preparations for the groundbreaking ceremony are underway.
