BIST 100 Index Completes the Day with Losses on Borsa Istanbul
While the BIST 100 index recorded a decline compared to the previous close, record levels were observed in global markets.
On Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index decreased by 69.66 points to complete the day with a selling trend, while the total trade volume reached 107.1 billion liras.
Sectoral Developments
While the banking index gained 0.66 percent, the holding index lost 0.81 percent in value.
Among the sector indices, food and beverage gained the most with 1.63 percent, while financial leasing and factoring lost the most with 6.67 percent.
Status of Global Markets
Global markets followed a positive course, supported by the decline in oil prices and bond yields, as well as optimism regarding the artificial intelligence sector.
In the US, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq indices drew attention by refreshing records during the day.
Domestic Market Course
Domestically on Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index declined due to prominent sales in industrial stocks despite purchases in the banking sector.
Data to be Monitored
Analysts reported that the Treasury cash balance will be monitored domestically tomorrow.
Abroad, the leading index in Japan, industrial production in Germany, consumer inflation expectations in the US, and Federal Open Market Committee meeting minutes will be watched.
Technical Levels
Experts stated that technically, 12,300 and 12,200 points are in the position of support for the BIST 100 index.
The 12,400 and 12,500 point levels for the index are being monitored as resistance points.
