Calculations Begin for January 2027 Salary and Wage Increases

Initial calculations have been made based on Medium-Term Program data and current inflation forecasts for the January 2027 salary and wage increases, which millions of employees and retirees await with excitement.

Medium-Term Program and Inflation Targets

While the year-end 2026 inflation forecast was updated to 28.4 percent in the new Medium-Term Program, the 2027 inflation target was set at the 21 percent level.

As of August, annual inflation was recorded at 31.51 percent, and the inflation rate realized since the beginning of the year stood at 22.07 percent.

SSK and Bağ-Kur Retiree Pension Expectations

SSK and Bağ-Kur retiree pensions are increased according to the six-month realized inflation rate, and a raise of approximately 9.04 percent is projected in January if the MTP forecast holds true.

According to the calculations made, if year-end inflation is 31 percent, the raise for this group could rise to the 11.3 percent level, and the lowest retiree pension could be 25,000 TL.

Situation of Civil Servants and Civil Servant Retirees

The 5 percent rate derived from the collective bargaining agreement and the inflation difference play a decisive role in the January increase for civil servants and civil servant retirees.

Based on MTP forecasts, it is projected that the total January increase will be around 7 percent, and the lowest civil servant salary could be 75,140 TL, while the retirement pension could be 33,734 TL.

Projected Scenarios for the Minimum Wage

The minimum wage does not increase directly depending on the inflation rate and is determined in December by the Minimum Wage Determination Commission.

For the minimum wage, which is a net 28,075.50 TL in 2026, increase scenarios in the 22 to 24 percent band come to the forefront, taking the MTP path into account.
