Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey Puts New Series of Banknotes into Circulation
New series of 50 TL and 5 TL banknotes have been put into circulation starting today by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey announced that the E9 Emission Group 9th series 50 TL and 8th series 5 TL banknotes entered circulation as of today.
Introduction of New Series Banknotes into Circulation
With the announcement made by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, the E9 Emission Group 9th series 50 TL and 8th series 5 TL banknotes were put into circulation starting today.
The process of putting the banknotes in question into circulation was carried out based on the authority granted to the bank by Law No. 1211.
Changes in Signature Arrangements
Compared to the previous series banknotes currently in circulation, it was observed that the signatures on the new money have been rearranged.
It was stated that the signatures on the new banknotes belong to Governor Dr. Fatih Karahan, along with Deputy Governor Dr. Gazi İshak Kara on the 50 TL and Deputy Governor Prof. Dr. Fatma Özkul on the 5 TL.
Use Together with Existing Money
According to the published announcement, except for the signatures on the new series banknotes, they are completely identical to the previous series in terms of dimensions, front and back face compositions, and general features and appearance.
It was stated that these newly issued series banknotes will continue to be used together with the previous series banknotes currently in circulation.
