GENAR Survey: Distrust in Economic Management Stands at 67 Percent

According to the August poll by the GENAR public opinion research organization, distrust in the economic management among citizens has reached 67 percent, while the primary item on society's agenda is the high cost of living.
Survey Results and Distrust Rates
According to the August survey by the GENAR public opinion research organization, citizens' distrust in the economic management reaches 67 percent. 32.2 percent of society respond with "I do not trust at all," while 35.1 percent say "I do not trust."
Among the ruling bloc, 31.8 percent of AK Party members and 53.6 percent of MHP members are also among those who do not trust the economic management.
The Cost of Living on Society's Agenda
According to the survey, economy under the heading of the cost of living ranks first on society's agenda. Citizens' concerns regarding economic conditions and livelihood struggles are reflected in the survey results.
While growth and inflation revisions in the Medium-Term Program for the 2027-2029 period announced by the government draw attention, year-end inflation was revised to 28.4 percent, and the single-digit inflation target was postponed to 2029.
Economic Indicators and Current Data
It is stated that the hunger threshold in Turkey has risen to 37 thousand liras, the poverty line to around 130 thousand liras, the lowest retiree pension is 23.5 thousand liras, and the minimum wage is over 28 thousand liras. It is also reported that the annual inflation rate is 31.51 percent.
Additionally, the leasing of bridges and highways for 30 years is among the topics that have come to the agenda alongside criticisms that the government has exhausted its resources.
