In the official statement made by the bank, it was stated that the operation subject to the news was a standard USD/TRY foreign exchange swap within the scope of ordinary treasury activities conducted with Switzerland-based Swissquote Bank Ltd.

Technical Details and Counterpart of the Transaction

Within the framework of the executed transaction, Hedef Investment Bank conveyed that it purchased approximately 40.9 million dollars from Swissquote, made a payment of approximately 2 billion liras in return, and that this amount was cleared.

Allegation of Transferring Funds Abroad

It was emphasized that the approximately 2 billion liras paid were transferred to Swissquote's correspondent account in Turkey, while the corresponding dollars passed to the Takasbank account, and that there was no question of bank resources being taken abroad.

Value Date and Mutual Obligations

It was stated that the dollar amount not yet being credited to the account at the time of the instruction does not mean that the transaction is unsupported, and that the dollar and TL payments are mutual obligations within the scope of the same FX swap transaction.
