Due to high cost pressures in the sector and low passenger demand, HFH Bosfor Seyahat, which started operating in May, lasted only three months and completely stopped its services in August.

Rising Costs Strain the Sector

Following developments in the Middle East, increases in fuel prices as well as rising costs for spare parts, maintenance, and service are negatively affecting bus companies' budgets.

Bus terminal entry-exit fees, highway toll charges, the expansion of high-speed train services, and increases in catering expenses are among other key factors heightening the economic pressure in the sector.

Lasted Three Months

While some bus companies are on the brink of bankruptcy because passenger numbers have failed to reach sufficient levels, HFH Bosfor Seyahat, which took to the road in May with 2026-model vehicles, managed to hold on in the sector for only three months.

The business reached the point of halting all its services with a decision taken in August and faced great difficulty in gaining market share.

Serving on a Wide Route Network

Focusing predominantly on the Aegean Region with departures from Istanbul, the company had established an intensive service network on popular routes such as Izmir, Aydin, Marmaris, Altinoluk, Ayvalik, and Bodrum.

Although the company entered the season with investments in new-model luxury vehicles, it carried out many of its trips at a loss and failed to capture the expected passenger traffic.
