January 2027 Pension Increase Rates and Initial Inflation Calculations
With the August inflation figures announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, initial calculations regarding the January 2027 hike rates for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees have begun to become clear.
Following the announcement of August inflation figures by the Turkish Statistical Institute data, initial calculation processes for the hike rates to be applied to SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees in January 2027 have begun. As a result of the total inflation for July and August, the two-month rate was recorded as 3.65 percent.
August Inflation Data Announced
The Turkish Statistical Institute shared the monthly and annual CPI rates for August with the public via its official website. Accordingly, monthly CPI increased by 1.84 percent, while the annual CPI rate materialized at the level of 31.51 percent.
Two-Month Total Inflation Rate Clarified
With the combination of inflation rates belonging to July and August, the rate that will be reflected in SSK and Bağ-Kur pensions has already reached the level of 3.65 percent. Data for the upcoming months is awaited to determine the final hike rate.
Central Bank and Market Expectations
While the Central Bank updated its inflation forecast to 28 percent, market participants' year-end inflation expectation shaped up as 29.43 percent. In line with these expectations, the six-month inflation for the second half is projected to materialize at varying rates.
January 2027 Hike Rate Projections
According to calculations made and inflation forecasts, it is estimated that the January 2027 pension hike for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees could materialize in the range of 8.70 percent to 9.92 percent.
Lowest Pension Forecasts
It is calculated that the lowest pension, which is currently applied as 23,552 liras, will rise to 25,601 liras if the 8.7 percent forecast materializes. In the event of the 9.92 percent expectation, this figure is expected to be 25,888 TL.
