Twenty-one of the world's leading financial institutions, including Bank of America, Deutsche Bank, and UBS, have decided to establish a joint company to support stablecoin issuance.

Establishment of the Joint Company and Approval Process

A joint statement issued by 21 of the world's leading financial institutions, including Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Deutsche Bank, and UBS, announced the establishment of a new company. It was stated that the incorporation process is subject to regulatory approvals and the new company's name will be announced in the future.

Currencies and Issuance Targets

It was conveyed that the company, planned to operate globally, will initially focus on issuing a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar, with the long-term goal of issuing stablecoins pegged to the euro and other G7 currencies.

Risk Management and Secure Solution

It was stated that the initiative will offer a secure solution combining bank-grade compliance, robust governance, distribution, and enterprise risk management by leveraging the expertise of participating institutions.

Markets and Use Cases

It was noted that the product will be utilized in various areas across wholesale, corporate, and retail markets, including cross-border payments and digital asset settlements.

Market Launch Date

It was reported that the stablecoin solution to be produced by the group is planned to be launched in the first half of 2027.
