Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek reported in an evaluation at the 19th Turkey Investment Conference held in New York that the Turkish economy's resilience against shocks has increased significantly despite challenging global conditions and regional conflicts.

According to a statement by the Foreign Economic Relations Board, the 19th Turkey Investment Conference is being held in New York on September 21-23 by the DEİK Turkey-US Business Council.

Economic Outlook Meeting Held

On the first day of the conference, a meeting on Turkey's Economic Outlook and Investment Opportunities was held in cooperation with Citi, with the participation of Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek and Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey Governor Fatih Karahan.

Cabinet Members Participated in the Conference

Various events attended by Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır and Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat were also included in the program of this important organization held in New York.

Medium-Term Program Shared

At the meeting featuring Minister Şimşek and Central Bank Governor Karahan, the roadmap of the Medium-Term Program announced at the beginning of September and Turkey's investment environment were conveyed to the participants.

External Vulnerabilities are Decreasing

The low total indebtedness ratio, room to maneuver in public finances, and decreasing external vulnerabilities were highlighted as factors strengthening the economy's resilience.

Reserves and FX-Protected Deposit Process

It was stated that increasing international reserves and the exit process from the FX-Protected Deposit scheme are also among the key developments increasing the economy's resistance to shocks.
