National Economics University welcomes nearly 9,000 new students in its 68th cohort
Thousands of new students stepped into academic life at a ceremony held during this special period as the university celebrates its 70th anniversary.
The National Economics University started its academic year by welcoming nearly 9,000 new students who joined the 68th undergraduate cohort at an official opening ceremony held on the morning of September 5, 2026.
Number of Enrolled Candidates and Success Rates
The total number of candidates admitted and enrolled at the National Economics University in 2026 was recorded at 8,913.
While 40 percent of these students achieved a score of 27 points and above on the entrance exam, 15 students achieved a perfect score of 30 out of 30.
Opening Speech by Rector Bui Duc Tho
University Rector Associate Professor Bui Duc Tho stated that the ceremony coincided with the period celebrating the 70th anniversary of the institution's establishment and development.
Rector Tho emphasized that beyond awarding diplomas, they aim to equip students with knowledge, problem-solving skills, and competencies in digital transformation and artificial intelligence.

Representing the new students at the ceremony, International Economics major Pham Chiem Kiet Huy delivered a speech.
