Amendments Made to the Regulation
As a result of the updates made to the Regulation on Protection of Wetlands, the scope of energy production investments to be carried out in these areas has been placed within a broader framework.
Definition of Artificial Wetland
With the regulation, the phrase artificial wetland was added to the text and this concept was officially defined.
These areas were explained as storage facilities established for recreation, drinking, utility, treatment, agricultural irrigation, or electricity generation purposes.
Renewable Energy Investments
With the new provision added to the relevant article of the regulation, the construction of solar and hydroelectric energy production facilities in artificial wetlands may be permitted.
