Turkey's July 2026 Foreign Trade Indices and Terms of Trade Announced
According to data shared by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the terms of trade declined while volume indices experienced decreases on an annual basis.
According to the July 2026 foreign trade indices announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the terms of trade declined to 91.3, while annual decreases were recorded in export and import volume indices.
Change in Terms of Trade
The terms of trade, calculated by dividing the export unit value index by the import unit value index, fell from 95.3 in July of last year to 91.3 this year with a decrease of 4 points.
Increase in Unit Value Indices
According to the released data, the export unit value index recorded an annual increase of 8.2 percent in July. The annual increase in the import unit value index was realized as 12.8 percent.
Export Volume Index Data
The export volume index decreased by 4.9 percent in July compared to the same month of the previous year, dropping to 142.1. According to seasonally and calendar-adjusted data, it rose by 2.7 percent compared to the previous month to 143.3.
Import Volume Index Data
The import volume index declined by 6.9 percent compared to the same month last year to 120.3. On a seasonally and calendar-adjusted basis, it saw an 8.7 percent drop compared to the previous month, reaching 114.7.
