YENİ Party's 2027-2029 Medium-Term Program Report
The YENİ Party Economy Coordination Council argued that the MTP covering the 2027-2029 period has lost its credibility and shared the policy commitments they will implement when they come to power.
In the Medium-Term Program evaluation report prepared by the YENİ Party Economy Coordination Council, it was stated that the program lost its credibility from day one, criticisms regarding budget, tax, and employment policies were listed, and the commitments to be implemented under the party's rule were announced to the public.
Criticisms of the Medium-Term Program
In the report prepared by the YENİ Party Economy Coordination Council, it was argued that the Medium-Term Program covering the 2027-2029 period has moved away from being a guide for the Turkish economy and has the character of a declaration that has lost its credibility.
Differences Between Inflation Forecasts
The report stated that the 2026 inflation forecast was revised upward by 12.4 percentage points within a year. While the Central Bank projected an inflation rate of 15 percent for the end of 2027, the MTP's projection of 21 percent for the same year was evaluated as a lack of communication between institutions.
Employment and Budget Balance Table
It was stated that the net employment increase in the 2025-2026 period was 13 thousand people and the decrease in unemployment was based on those who gave up looking for work. It was recorded that in 2027, capital expenditures will be 1 trillion 852 billion liras, and interest expenditures will be 3 trillion 975 billion liras.
Tax Distribution and Agricultural Sector
It was stated that 60 percent of tax revenues consist of indirect taxes and numerical targets for income distribution are not included. It was emphasized that agriculture was treated as an inflation item rather than supply security and the support budget was frozen.
Steps to Be Taken Upon Coming to Power
In the conclusion section of the report, it was stated that submitting a justified deviation report to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) in case of deviation from the MTP targets will be made a legal obligation and the rate of indirect taxes will be announced transparently.
Economic Policy Commitments
It was announced that income distribution will be made measurable with Gini coefficient and poverty rate targets, and that realized inflation and welfare share will be taken as the basis in minimum wage and public collective agreements.
Audit and Agricultural Production Targets
It was stated that tax expenditures and incentives will be subject to the audit of the Court of Accounts, agriculture will be treated as supply security, purchase prices will be announced according to production costs, and social assistance regulations will be made rights-based.
Officially Announced Forecast Data
Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz had announced that the year-end growth forecast for 2026 was lowered from 3.8 percent to 3.3 percent, and the year-end inflation forecast was increased from 16 percent to 28.4 percent.
