Google has announced the rollout of five new updates for Android users focused on accessibility, usability, and personalization. These new features include systems to reduce motion sickness, AI-powered vision assistants, and messaging enhancements.
Motion Assist Against Motion Sickness
Google introduced the Motion Assist feature, which aims to alleviate the nausea experienced by people using their phones in moving vehicles. A layer of animated bubbles on the screen helps reduce the mismatch between visual perception and bodily sensation.
Gemini-Powered Guided Vision
Developed for blind and low-vision users, Guided Vision combines the phone camera with Gemini artificial intelligence. This feature offers audio guidance on tasks such as reading small text, examining menus in the dark, and identifying surrounding objects.
Find Hub and Reminder Updates
The remembered items section within Find Hub allows users to record where they placed their important belongings with the help of Gemini. Users can also add photos of the items to this section.
Google Messages and Keep Integration
Thanks to the Google Keep integration added to the Google Messages app, users can share and edit information such as shopping lists and travel notes directly within messaging windows.
Broad Customization in Messaging
Google Messages also allows individual chats to be customized with backgrounds, photos, and colors. With this setting, text bubbles automatically adapt to the chosen colors.
