Apple discontinues support for three Intel-powered MacBook models
The tech giant has officially concluded the official hardware support process by moving certain older MacBook models into the obsolete products category.
Apple has announced that official hardware support has been cut off for three different Intel-powered MacBook models released in 2017 and 2018.
The Models Losing Support Are Defined
In line with the recent decision made by Apple, the 2018 13-inch MacBook Pro model with four Thunderbolt 3 ports has been included in this scope.
Additionally, the list includes the 2018 13-inch MacBook Air with a Retina display and the 2017 13-inch MacBook Pro with two Thunderbolt 3 ports.
Obsolete Product Category and Process
The company considers devices whose distribution was stopped and for which more than seven years have passed since their release date as discontinued from sales.
As a result of this applied policy, hardware provisioning support for the products in question has been completely terminated.
Battery Repair Policy Details
Despite these decisions, Apple continues to provide a repair service covering batteries for up to 10 years from the date the products were released for sale.
