Journalist and author Kemal Öztürk went to the Istanbul Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to give his testimony within the scope of the investigation initiated by the Samandağ Chief Public Prosecutor's Office due to his statements on the program he attended on NTV. It was reported that the investigation was opened following the remarks made during the August 27 television program.
Apology and Evaluations
While evaluating the events in Syria on the television program, Öztürk stated that he was saddened by the misunderstanding of his expressions regarding the Nusayris. Apologizing to Alawite and Nusayri citizens who he thought remembered the traumas they had experienced, Öztürk rejected the allegations that he called for a massacre.
Emphasis on the Terror-Free Turkey Process
Defending that the reactions against him were not limited to his person alone, Öztürk claimed that the main target was the Terror-Free Turkey and Terror-Free Region process. He claimed that those supporting the process were being tried to be undermined on this occasion.

Stating that he and his family had been subjected to insults and threats for the past five days, Öztürk announced that he had applied to the judiciary regarding those who made these posts. Stating that social sensitivities must be observed, Öztürk noted that he would continue to defend the process.
