New Artificial Intelligence Program from the University of Chicago

The University of Chicago announced that it has established a new master's program within the Physical Sciences Division and the Data Science Institute to adapt to rapidly developing artificial intelligence technologies.

Start Date of the New Program

The Master of Applied Artificial Intelligence program launched by the University of Chicago is preparing to accept its first students in the autumn 2027 term.

Duration and Scope of Education

Designed for students with a strong technical background, this full-time, nine-month program combines advanced artificial intelligence studies with practical applications.

Arnab Bose, the faculty director of the program, emphasizes that this education was developed in line with the requirements of the changing artificial intelligence ecosystem.

Course Contents and Elective Areas

Students are required to complete four core courses focusing on artificial intelligence fundamentals, advanced architectures, security, and value creation.

Following the core courses, students choose one of five elective courses in three focus areas: applied artificial intelligence, frontier artificial intelligence, and performance artificial intelligence.

Application and Information Calendar

It was reported that the application portal for the master's program in question will open in September 2026.

The first virtual information session planned to provide candidates with information about the program will be held on September twenty-second.
