Critical Meeting in Ankara

Within the scope of contacts held to deepen cooperation in the energy field between Turkey and Iraq, Minister Bayraktar received Iraqi Oil Minister Basim Muhammed Hudeir and his accompanying delegation at the Ministry. Strategic relations between the two countries were discussed during the meeting.

Roadmap for a Comprehensive Agreement

Following the crude oil transportation contract signed between BOTAŞ, SOMO, and NOC last August, the roadmap prepared for a long-term and more comprehensive new agreement began to be clarified.

Joint Working Groups

It is planned to activate joint working groups to quickly finalize projects in oil and natural gas infrastructure, exploration and production, oil trade, refinery-petrochemical, and electricity.

Kirkuk-Ceyhan Pipeline Project

Extending the Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline to Basra and increasing its capacity carries great importance in terms of creating a strong alternative to the Gulf region and the Strait of Hormuz.

TPAO's Role and Targets

It is aimed for the national company TPAO to play an active role in different fields in Iraq alongside the Kirkuk fields, and to achieve the 1 million barrels of crude oil supply target stated by Iraqi Prime Minister Mr. Ali al-Zaidi.

Development Road Energy Corridor

Turkey continues to build the Development Road not only as a transportation corridor, but as a strategic energy route supported by oil, natural gas, and electricity transmission lines along the route.
