It has been announced that the new uniforms distributed by the Ministry of Health will not be worn until their safety is proven.
The Hekim Birliği Union has announced that its members have decided not to wear the new work uniforms distributed by the Ministry of Health until scientific data is presented proving that they are safe for human health.
Survey Results and Justification for Action
The Hekim Birliği Union stated that the single-type work uniforms distributed and mandated by the Ministry of Health were inadequate due to qualitative issues and conducted a survey across the country. In line with the survey results, it was determined that the uniforms were unsuitable in terms of health.
Decision of the Central Board of Directors
Following intense reports from members and the survey results, the Hekim Birliği Central Board of Directors unanimously decided to take union action. It was emphasized that the new uniforms need to be examined in terms of air permeability, thermal comfort, moisture management, and chemical substances.
Condition of Scientific Data Required
It was reported that members will not wear these uniforms and will continue their duties in their current uniforms until concrete, scientific, and technical test results regarding the safety of the new work uniforms for human health are presented and evaluated.
Legal Support and Administrative Responsibility
The union stated that members cannot be asked to purchase new uniforms from their own budgets and that providing safe uniforms is the responsibility of the administration. It was stated that full legal support will be provided in the event of any disciplinary action taken against members who comply with the action.
