The provinces with the lowest alcohol and tobacco consumption in Turkey have been announced in line with data from the Ministry of Health and TÜİK. Bayburt, known for its traditional lifestyle, took the top spot on the list.

Ranked First in Alcohol Consumption

In analyses based on data from the Ministry of Health and the Turkish Statistical Institute, Bayburt was recorded as the province with the lowest measured alcohol use in the country.

Eastern Anatolia Region Stood Out

Bayburt was followed by the provinces of Muş, Hakkari, and Ağrı. It drew attention that cities in the Eastern Anatolian region generally occupied the upper ranks on the list.

Low Cigarette Consumption Rates

The research showed that a similar picture emerged regarding tobacco and cigarette use, with rates remaining lower in certain provinces in Eastern Anatolia and the Eastern Black Sea region.

Effect of Population and Urbanization

It was stated that cigarette consumption was limited in provinces with smaller populations such as Bayburt and Hakkari, whereas usage rates increased in regions with dense urbanization and population.
