Hanoi City Police Hospital Aims for Breakthrough in Healthcare Through Digital Transformation
The hospital aims to improve treatment quality and expand preventive healthcare by transitioning to a paperless service model through electronic medical records and smart management systems.
Under Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW and the Capital Law, which came into effect on July 1, 2026, the Hanoi City Police Hospital is undergoing a comprehensive digital transformation process to modernize healthcare services for military personnel, officers, and the public.
Digital Transformation and Technological Infrastructure
As part of its modernization efforts, Hanoi City Police Hospital successfully implemented electronic medical records in 2025. As of October 2025, the transition to full digital signature use in professional processes laid the foundation for the paperless hospital model.
In collaboration with Gtel Corporation, the Information Technology Department of the Ministry of Public Security, and relevant units of the Hanoi City Police, the hospital established a PACS medical imaging management system integrated with the HIS hospital management system.
Preventive Healthcare and Community Focus
Currently serving as a class 3 hospital with 7 departments and functional units, the institution aims to transition from a treatment-oriented approach to disease-preventing healthcare. In this context, regular health screenings are conducted for officers and soldiers.
Hospital Director Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thi Thu Hien stated that regular check-ups are critical for early detection of risk factors and providing lifelong health monitoring. In addition, community-based health models are being developed for the elderly and children under 6 years old in areas far from the city center.
Future Goals and Infrastructure Investments
The hospital plans to transform into a smart provincial-level hospital model and build a green, environmentally friendly facility using the opportunities provided by the Capital Law. In this process, the healthcare capacity of affiliated units, such as detention centers and drug rehabilitation centers, will also be strengthened.
Deputy Director Lieutenant Colonel Doan Thuy Hoa addressed the challenges of sharing large-scale medical data synchronously among institutions, stating that this is a driving force for perfecting digital transformation and modern management systems.
