The Ministry of Health has launched an urgent investigation following reports of superficial pre-employment health checks conducted in a very short time at private clinics in the Mekong Delta.
The Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management under the Ministry of Health has requested urgent verification and investigation following press reports regarding superficial and extremely rapid health examinations conducted for job applications at private clinics in Can Tho and Dong Thap provinces.
Request for Urgent Review
The Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management requested the Health Departments of Can Tho and Dong Thap to urgently investigate the information published in the press. The department stated that it had received feedback indicating that certain private clinics were issuing health certificates for job applications after conducting health examinations in a very short time.
Investigation of Violations
The Ministry requested the relevant authorities to urgently verify the content of the press reports and investigate all incidents. It was emphasized that any potential violations identified must be handled strictly and in accordance with the law.
Details of Superficial Examinations
Concerns had been raised in the media that pre-employment health checks at some multi-specialty private clinics in the Mekong Delta were conducted rapidly and superficially. It was stated that the procedures took a very short time and lacked the necessary comprehensive evaluations.
Clinic Practices
It was noted that at a clinic in Can Tho city, the process took about 20 minutes and the report contained nine signatures, while at a clinic in Dong Thap, a doctor continued consultations while prescribing medication and the report was finalized in a short time.
