New Ministry of Health Circular

The Ministry of Health has issued Circular No. 34/2026/TT-BYT regarding the implementation of the national target program for the 2026-2035 period.

Under this circular, all students from preschool to high school across the country will be subject to health checks.

Five Core Disease Groups

Specifically starting in 2028, the program will conduct comprehensive screenings for five school-related disease and disability groups.

These groups include overweight and obesity, refractive errors, scoliosis, dental problems, and mental health disorders.

Current Check-ups and Process

According to current regulations, preschool, primary, and secondary school students undergo health checks once a year at the beginning of the school year.

The check-up results are recorded in the Ministry of Health's Health Data Portal, and referrals to appropriate medical facilities are made in cases of abnormalities.
