Union Survey: Healthcare Workers' Workload and Conditions Have Worsened

According to a recent survey, the workload of a very significant portion of personnel in family health centers has increased following the transition to the new information system.

The vast majority of healthcare workers who participated in the survey conducted by the Unity and Solidarity Union reported that their working conditions were negatively affected after the transition to the Ministry of Health's Family Medicine Information System.

Scope and Participants of the Survey

The user experience survey, announced to the public at a press conference held in Istanbul, was conducted this month with the participation of a total of 1,723 family physicians and 1,909 family health midwives and nurses from 75 provinces.

Increase in Workload and Processes

According to the survey results, 84.7% of the participants stated that the workload and working conditions became heavier with the commissioning of the system. In addition, 84.8% noted that the processing time per patient had lengthened.

The Situation Among Midwives and Nurses

In the study examining the effects of the system on the field, the difficulties experienced by family health midwives and nurses were also reflected in the figures. 87.3% of the workers in this group stated that the processing time per patient had increased.
