Vocational Training Begins for Village Health Workers in An Giang Province
Over 120 workers from disadvantaged and ethnic minority areas in An Giang province have enrolled in comprehensive vocational training to become village health personnel.
Under a new program implemented in An Giang province, more than 120 workers from ethnic minority and mountainous regions have begun vocational training to become village health workers. The three-month courses are conducted through cooperation between local governments and vocational schools.
Launch of the Training Program
More than 120 workers from ethnic minority and mountainous areas in three communes of An Giang province have stepped into vocational training to earn the title of village health worker.
The opening ceremonies, held on September 7 and 8, were organized in coordination with the People's Committees of the respective communes and various vocational colleges.
Participant Profile and Regional Distribution
The more than 120 trainees participating in the courses were selected from poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged Khmer families living in the communes of Tri Ton, O Lam, and Ba Chuc.
The initiative aims to address the shortage of health personnel in these ethnic and mountainous regions, which are known for their particularly challenging geographical conditions.
Comprehensive Curriculum and Process
Throughout the training program, which is scheduled to last for three months, trainees will receive instruction in accordance with Circular No. 27 of the Ministry of Health.
Professional knowledge and skills in critical areas such as basic health management, preventive medicine, vaccination, and first aid will be imparted to the participants.
