Ten suspects detained in an operation conducted in ten provinces based in Istanbul on the grounds that they made inappropriate broadcasts via social media platforms were referred to the courthouse after the completion of their procedures at the police station.

Simultaneous Operation in Ten Provinces

Within the scope of the investigation coordinated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an operation was organized in ten provinces with the support of the teams from the Istanbul Public Order Branch Directorate and the Cyber Crimes Branch Directorate.

A total of ten suspects were detained in simultaneous raids carried out in the provinces of Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya, Bursa, Kocaeli, Muğla, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Malatya, and Elazığ.

Accusations and Broadcast Content

It was determined that the suspects made live broadcasts on social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and X, and acted together in order to generate digital income through these broadcasts.

It was detected that they committed the crimes of inciting or humiliating the public into hatred and hostility and obscenity by making posts containing fights, threats, insults, tension, and victimhood.

Referral Process to Courthouse

Five of the suspects whose procedures at the police station were completed, who were captured in Istanbul, were referred to the courthouse after undergoing a health check.

It was learned that the five suspects detained in other provinces were also sent to the courthouse after the completion of their procedures.
