Following Fenerbahçe's 92-90 defeat to Olympiakos in the Euroleague Super Cup semi-finals, head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius stated that they received a painful result after the match and emphasized the need to learn lessons from their mistakes.

Initial Statements After the Match

Speaking at the press conference held at Etihad Arena, Lithuanian coach Sarunas Jasikevicius congratulated Olympiakos and Georgios Bartzokas after the match. He expressed that losing the contest in this manner was extremely painful.

Stating that they failed to maintain their lead despite repeatedly going up by more than 10 points throughout the match, the experienced coach said they needed to play with more maturity and could do much better with the good roster at their disposal.

Defense and Turnovers

Explicitly stating that he was not satisfied with his team's defensive performance, Jasikevicius emphasized that they especially gifted very easy points to the opponent.

Drawing attention to the 19 turnovers made during the contest and the high number of points conceded from them, the coach noted that the opponent's big men established dominance in rebounding battles as well.

Emphasis on Working for the Future

Jasikevicius conveyed that they must continue to work hard as a team with the goal of improving day by day.

The experienced coach underlined that once a scoring advantage is secured in matches at this level, the game must not be let slip away easily.
