Following the Istanbul-based operation in which MHK President Ferhat Gündoğdu and certain referees and observers were detained, the Turkish Football Federation published an official statement.

Investigation Process and Detentions

Within the scope of the operation carried out in four provinces based in Istanbul, seven suspects, including Central Arbitration Board President Ferhat Gündoğdu as well as referees and observers, were detained. It was reported that the suspects face accusations of mobbing and forgery of official documents.

TFF's Approach to Duty

Stating that the Board of Directors of the Turkish Football Federation was elected by the will of the delegates, it expressed that efforts continue to restore public conscience. It aims to strengthen the understanding of clean football and fair play.

Inter-Institutional Coordination

It was emphasized that the board of directors resolutely addresses the issues of betting and illegal betting. It was noted that work is being carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Interior, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Criminal Complaints and Documents

Since April 2025, the TFF has filed multiple criminal complaints with the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on various dates for the establishment of justice. It was announced that relevant documents were forwarded to the chief public prosecutor's office and full cooperation is being maintained with judicial authorities.

Emphasis on the Judicial Process

The Turkish Football Federation stated that its belief in the supremacy of law and the independence of judicial authorities is complete. The public was requested to consider only the statements to be made by authorized authorities.
