The 2026 Finance and Banking Sector Innovation Forum was held on the morning of October 4, 2026, at the National Convention Center in Hanoi under the theme "Unlocking Resources for Innovation." The event was implemented under the direction of the State Bank of Vietnam and the Ministry of Science and Technology, coordinated by the Banking Academy and the Department of Innovation.

Participation and Opening Speeches

Pham Tien Dung, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, attended this important sectoral gathering, delivered the opening speech, and touched upon innovative approaches in the sector.

Key Issues Addressed

Within the scope of the forum, the banking sector's digital transformation processes, innovative projects, and the channeling of financial resources to the right areas were discussed. In addition, critical issues such as data security and integration with the National Population Database were addressed in detail.

Sectoral Data and Developments

According to the data announced at the meeting, it was recorded that as of the end of 2025, more than 88.9% of the Vietnamese adult population had a bank account. It was also stated that cashless payments reached 28 times the gross domestic product during the same period.
