Special individuals folk dance team from Çorum will perform at TEKNOFEST
Special individuals from Çorum continue their preparations to take the stage at TEKNOFEST to be held in Şanlıurfa.
The folk dance team of special individuals from Çorum, established within the scope of a project supported by the Ministry of Interior, will take the stage at TEKNOFEST to be held in Şanlıurfa.
Scope of the Project
Within the framework of the Barrier-Free Family Academy Project supported by the General Directorate of Relations with Civil Society of the Ministry of Interior, a folk dance team consisting of special individuals was brought to life.
Festival Preparations
The performance team is preparing for TEKNOFEST, the aerospace and technology festival to be held in Şanlıurfa between September 30 and October 4, at the Çorum Municipality Buhara Culture Center.
Structure of the Team
Consisting of fifteen special individuals aged between thirteen and thirty, along with three supporting mothers, the team includes individuals with intellectual disabilities, Down syndrome, and autism.
Special Costumes
The special costumes with Hittite motifs that the team will wear on stage were meticulously tailored by trainees at the Çorum Municipality Women's Culture Center.
Purpose and Statements
Dr. Neslihan Hüsülüoğulları stated that the project was created to ensure the full integration of disabled individuals and their families into social life.
Hayriye Kocakara, Vice President of the Association for the Protection of Children with Intellectual Disabilities and Project Coordinator, along with trainer Yusuf Karaboğa, provided information about the team's work.
