Developed to increase mission durability and continuity of satellites, the independent space black box system TAURUS Hedgehog was deemed worthy of an award at the International Astronautical Congress.

Award-Winning Project at the International Congress

Designed as an independent space black box and mission security system aimed at enhancing the mission durability and continuity of satellites, TAURUS Hedgehog was deemed worthy of an award at the International Astronautical Congress (IAC 2026).

Evaluation Process in the Entrepreneurship Competition

During the Entrepreneurship Competition held within the scope of IAC 2026, 9 startups from various countries presented their projects to the international jury.

Each member of the five-person jury individually evaluated the presentations of these companies and selected their chosen startup as the winner.

First-Place Selection by Nova Space Representative

Luigi Scatteia from Nova Space selected GUMUSH Space Systems with the TAURUS Hedgehog project as number one in his evaluation.

As a result of this success, the award was presented to the company's CEO, Murat Süer, by Scatteia.

Designed for the Protection of Critical Data

The system aims to independently record telemetry, telecommand, position and attitude data, software events, error logs, subsystem health data, and selected mission data with time stamps.

The Hedgehog architecture aims to protect critical data following system failures, radiation and thermal environmental effects, jamming, spoofing, cyber attacks, and operational anomalies.

Developed on Previous Space Infrastructure

The TAURUS Hedgehog project is being developed on the basis of GUMUSH Space Systems' previously space-proven TAURUS 0.25U space infrastructure and flight experience.

The company aims to advance this infrastructure to enhance durability, data security, and mission continuity in new-generation small satellite missions.
