Allowances Increased for Healthcare Workers Serving in Disadvantaged Regions
The Ministry of Health has increased allowance rates to enhance the retention of personnel serving in disadvantaged regions, while also continuing digital transformation and mental health initiatives.
The Ministry of Health has increased allowance rates to ensure healthcare personnel remain in disadvantaged regions. With the new regulation taking effect as of January 1, 2026, professional incentive allowances have been restructured.
Incentive Payments and New Decree
The Government Decree issued to increase allowances for healthcare workers and ensure they remain in disadvantaged regions has been implemented since the beginning of the year.
The incentive payments determined within the framework of the new regulation were distributed at varying rates according to the nature and difficulty level of the areas where the employees serve.
Highest Incentive Rate Determined
The highest professional incentive allowance was set at 80 percent, and this rate was made applicable to public officials serving in critical areas.
Personnel who directly examine psychiatric patients, work in forensic medicine and forensic psychiatry, provide emergency care, conduct pathological anatomy studies, and healthcare workers in border and island regions benefit from this rate.
Rates for Different Duty Groups
Depending on the nature of the work and the conditions of the regions served, incentive allowances were also arranged at different rates such as 70 percent, 60 percent, 50 percent, 40 percent, and 30 percent.
The Ministry of Health is evaluating a comprehensive roadmap to raise this rate to 100 percent for certain groups in the upcoming process.
Digital Transformation and Administrative Processes
The Ministry of Health has accelerated digital transformation activities to eliminate bottlenecks regarding the creation of databases and the digitization of administrative procedures.
Deputy Minister Vu Manh Ha stated that the process is being closely monitored to ensure digital services are delivered to the public more securely and accurately.
Mental Health and Physical Activity
Based on World Health Organization data, attention was drawn to the positive effects of physical activity on mental health, and its importance for public health was emphasized.
On the occasion of the upcoming World Mental Health Day, various campaigns and local initiatives were implemented against the rates of physical inactivity among children and adolescents.
Promotion of Daily Exercise Habits
Through the Let's Move campaign and similar local initiatives, it is aimed to instill daily exercise habits in children and youth.
With these ongoing efforts, it is aimed for the younger generations to grow up as healthier individuals both physically and mentally.
