On flydubai flight FZ1073 operating from Dubai to Tel Aviv, the co-pilot allegedly attacked captain pilot Smit Machchhar inside the cockpit.
The Israeli government and United Arab Emirates authorities described this situation as an attempted terrorist act.

According to information provided by high-ranking Omani government sources, it was determined that Hamam al-Hammami had previously shown interest in extremist websites.
Following these findings, authorities in Oman did not allow the pilot to pursue an aviation career in the country.
