British counter-terrorism police have released on bail a 25-year-old British-Iranian dual national who was arrested as part of an investigation concerning the RAF Fairford air base, which is also used by US forces.

Details of the Investigation

British counter-terrorism police have taken a new step and released the suspect in custody while investigating a suspected plot linked to the RAF Fairford base in western England.

It was officially announced that searches at two properties in London have been completed following the release of the 25-year-old male suspect, who was arrested on Thursday.

Events Around the Base

The incident near Fairford occurred in the early hours of last Sunday near three vans, and five British men in their 20s were arrested on terrorism and explosives offenses.

While these five suspects were subsequently released on police bail under strict conditions, it was stated that petrol was found in the vans, but no improvised explosive devices were discovered.

Foreign State Allegations

Teams conducting the investigation, described as complex, stated they are investigating whether a foreign state was involved in the incident.

Prime Minister Andy Burnham stated on Wednesday that the incident could have a connection to Iran, while various assessments regarding the matter have also been made internationally.
