Industrialists Focus on Growing Cyber Threats in the Digital Transformation Process
With the acceleration of digital transformation in factories and organized industrial zones, new measures against cybersecurity risks are being discussed.
With the acceleration of digital transformation in organized industrial zones and factories, alongside the use of 5G and artificial intelligence, industrialists have focused on taking new measures against increasing cyber threats and building joint security capacities.
Disruptions in digital systems managing electricity, water, natural gas, and wastewater services in organized industrial zones (OIZs) can directly affect production lines, leading to significant losses in the supply chain. As of April 1, 2026, the rollout of 5G technology and the spread of artificial intelligence applications in factories increased cybersecurity risks, while vulnerabilities detected in the PHP infrastructure also highlighted the existing threats.
Ankara Chamber of Industry (ASO) President Seyit Ardıç stated that cybersecurity in the industrial sector is a vital condition for production continuity. Ardıç underlined that especially SMEs' access to joint cybersecurity services needs to be strengthened.
