Statement on retiree regulations from Cevdet Yılmaz: Priority will be given in the 2027 budget

During his evaluations at the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) Plan and Budget Committee, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz stated that they prioritized retirees in the 2027 budget and aimed to offer opportunities above inflation growth.

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz answered the questions and criticisms of members of parliament regarding the 2027 Central Government Budget Bill and the 2025 Central Government Final Account Bill at the TBMM Plan and Budget Committee. Yılmaz provided information regarding the steps to be taken for retirees in the new budget period.

Stating that they prioritized retirees particularly while preparing the 2027 budget, Yılmaz noted that they based their approach on providing retirees with opportunities exceeding the increase brought by inflation. Stating that technical studies with all relevant institutions on alternatives regarding the issue are ongoing, Yılmaz reported that the studies have not yet been completed.

Stating that this area needs to be regulated by law apart from automatic increases linked to inflation, Yılmaz expressed that when the ongoing studies are finished, they will be submitted to the discretion of Parliament.
