McDonald's announced that it will implement the AI-powered ArchIQ system to modernize restaurant operations and improve processes.

ArchIQ and the New Strategy

According to the announcement made during its investor day, McDonald's will use the AI-based ArchIQ restaurant operating system as part of its 'Accelerating the Arches' (Next) strategy.

This technology aims to reduce operational complexity and allow employees to focus more on the customer experience.

Orders and Voice AI

The voice AI named Archy, introduced through the ArchIQ system, can take drive-thru orders in English and Spanish with over 90% accuracy.

This voice AI technology is expected to save at least 50 hours of labor per week.

Inventory Tracking and Food Waste

The system's automated inventory counting will reduce food waste by 15% using Bluetooth Low Energy tags.

At the same time, this feature is expected to save approximately five hours of labor per week.

Google Partnership and Future Plans

Within the framework of the partnership with Google that began in 2023, Google Edge technology has been deployed to thousands of restaurants and will be brought to the U.S. in 2027.

While executives did not provide a definitive timeline for the full rollout of the ArchIQ system, they stated that the process will proceed conditionally based on the readiness of the restaurants.
