With the end of the fishing ban in the seas, an abundance of anchovies, bonito, horse mackerel, and sardines began to be seen at fish stalls in Istanbul. Fishermen stated that they have not raised prices on their products for the last three years and offer affordable prices.

Stalls Colored Up with the Opening of the Season

Following the lifting of the fishing ban, fish stalls across Istanbul gained significant activity, and the variety of seafood offered for citizens' consumption increased significantly.

Prices Remained Stable for the Last Three Years

Fisherman Kenan Balcı emphasized that despite rising general food costs, they have not made any increases in fish prices for the last three years and offer economical options to citizens.

How Much Are Anchovy and Bonito Prices

Due to the abundance in the seas, the kilogram price of anchovies finds buyers at 200 liras, while bonito is offered for sale in the range of 100, 120, and 150 liras depending on its size.
