Applications for social rental housing for low-income families begin in Istanbul

In the social rental housing project prepared to meet the housing needs of low-income citizens in Istanbul under affordable conditions, the application process for 1,071 residences is taking place between September 14 and September 25, 2026.

Application Schedule and Process

Applications for the first 1,071 completed social rental housing units in Istanbul started to be accepted as of today. The application process will continue until September 25, 2026.

The drawing of lots and housing delivery procedures are planned to be carried out within the month of October.

Rental Prices and Increase Conditions

In the project, which is offered to citizens who do not own a home at prices below regional market rates, monthly rental amounts start at 10,000 liras.

No rent increase will be made in the first year, and the first adjustment will be made in January 2028 according to the 12-month averages of the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

Distribution of Residences and Regions

The social rental housing units are located in 4 different regional groups across Istanbul.

620 apartments on the Anatolian side and 450 apartments on the European side will be allocated to beneficiaries.

General Application Conditions

Applicants are required to be Turkish citizens, to have completed 18 years of age, and to be married.

While the condition of uninterrupted residency in Istanbul for at least one year is required, there is also a condition that the household net income must not exceed 100,000 TL.

Ownership and Restrictions

It is required that neither the applicants nor their spouses own a registered house in Turkey and that they have not sold a residence in the last 5 years.

Citizens who have previously signed a contract with TOKİ or are active beneficiaries will not be able to apply for this project.
