Ban on Businesses Deducting POS Commissions: Unfair Fees Being Refunded
It has been reported that funds collected by businesses demanding extra POS fees from consumers during card-backed purchases can be legally reclaimed with statutory interest.
According to existing regulations, businesses are prohibited from passing POS costs on to consumers, and it has been stated that unfairly deducted fees can be recovered with interest by applying to Consumer Arbitration Committees.

According to legal regulations, businesses are prohibited from reflecting POS costs onto consumers as a separate item and demanding additional fees.
The contracts of workplaces that violate this rule are terminated, and they are not permitted to make new contracts for one year.
Central Bank Commission Rates
According to the regulations of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, the maximum commission rate for single credit card transactions has been set at 3.56 percent.
For debit cards, this maximum commission rate is applied at the level of 1.04 percent.
Integrated POS System in Taxis
To eliminate commission demands and excuses in taxis, the use of a 'Taxi Fiscal Device' has been made mandatory.
The transition period for the system has been extended by the Revenue Administration until November 16, 2026.
Consumer Arbitration Committee Applications
Aydın Ağaoğlu, President of the Consumer Confederation, emphasized that the extra fees collected are unlawful.
Citizens can recover unfairly deducted money with statutory interest by applying to Arbitration Committees with their receipts or invoices.
