The application of a father of three working for minimum wage in Gaziantep to the Governor's Office requesting euthanasia due to economic hardships has been brought to the parliamentary agenda by the Labor Party deputy.

Euthanasia Application Brought to Parliament

A father of three working for minimum wage in the city of Gaziantep made an official application to the Governor's Office requesting euthanasia due to the profound cost of living crisis he is experiencing.

This grave incident was brought directly to the agenda of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey through a written parliamentary question prepared by Labor Party Gaziantep Deputy Sevda Karaca.

Harshest Criticism of Economic Policies

In the parliamentary question she submitted for Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz to answer, Deputy Sevda Karaca heavily criticized the ruling party's economic policies.

Stating that citizens are completely exhausted both mentally and physically under the burden of the cost of living, Karaca argued that this picture is a direct result of the government's program.

Emphasis on Medium-Term Program and Poverty

Karaca expressed that the Medium-Term Program promises workers only low wages, very long working hours, and deepening poverty.

She stated that children's basic needs cannot be met, free meals at schools are not provided, and the care burden on women has increased.
