In her evaluation based on the Court of Accounts report dated September 15, 2026, Lawyer Aslı Murat emphasized that the problems experienced in the old and new speed detection camera systems must be examined.
Disruptions Between the Old and New Systems
It was stated that although the old cameras continued to collect data, fines could not be issued because the software could not be accessed, and that a working system was removed before the new one could be fully operational.
Scale of Financial Losses
It was shared that approximately 173.9 million TL in fines could not be issued during the period from the installation of the new system to its commissioning.
Inter-Institutional Responsibility Debates
It was argued that during the process of requesting information and documents, responsibility was shifted back and forth among the Undersecretary, the Traffic Department, and the Ministry, and that some questions remained unanswered.
Legal Process and Chain of Responsibility
Recalling that the Court of Accounts forwarded the report to the Legal Department, it was emphasized that the file must be handled without delay, taking into account the entire chain of responsibility.
