Conscious Motherhood Process with Bağcılar Training and Research Hospital Pregnancy School
Expectant mothers and fathers are prepared for the process through face-to-face and online training provided at the Bağcılar Training and Research Hospital Pregnancy School.
Operating in line with the Ministry of Health's efforts to promote normal birth, the Bağcılar Training and Research Hospital Pregnancy School offers comprehensive face-to-face and online training to expectant mothers and fathers, helping to reduce birth anxieties.
Training Programs Offered at the Pregnancy School
Face-to-face and online training is provided to pregnant women who are twelve weeks and older at the Bağcılar Training and Research Hospital Pregnancy School. For pregnant women who have completed their twentieth week, partner-inclusive training sessions are organized regularly every month.
Comprehensive Topics Covered in Trainings
Many different topics are covered in detail, ranging from nutrition during pregnancy and preparation for birth to breathing and relaxation exercises, breastfeeding, the postpartum period, and newborn care. In this process, dietitians, physiotherapists, dentists, and the lactation unit provide active support alongside midwives and physicians.
Raising Awareness for Normal Birth
Midwife Simge Yiğit Dinç stated that raising awareness about normal birth constitutes an important part of the training. It was emphasized that it is important for expectant mothers to get to know the birth process starting from the pregnancy period.
Active Participation of Expectant Fathers in the Process
It was emphasized that expectant fathers knowing about the pregnancy and birth process strengthens the support they provide to the mother. Importance is attached to preparing couples together in partner-inclusive training, and expectant fathers become an active part of the process.
Reduced Anxieties Through Delivery Room Visits
Midwife Zehra Türköz explained that as birth approaches, expectant mothers wonder about the hospital process. Alongside the training, importance is given to visits to the delivery room and obstetrics service, ensuring that expectant mothers feel better prepared.
Feedback from Expectant Mothers
Expectant mothers who attended the training expressed that their anxieties regarding birth decreased after the programs. As a result of these efforts, it was stated that fear has been replaced by confidence and many questions in mind have found answers.
